4 Quick Tips to create a vision in Agribusiness

Here are 4 quick tips to creating a successful vision you can be empowered to deliver.

Come along with me as I explore the reasons why.

The why and the vision

A team that has a leader who is empowered, believes in his vision, has complete confidence and is driven to perform is successful.

I’ve observed this for years in the Agricultural Industry. The Ag world is surrounded with situations that take us away from the Vision and the “Why”.

Creating a structured Vision with a “why” is key to accomplishing the end goal and success.

A farm with a vision and a “WHY” is able to pivot and create opportunities that work towards an end goal.

Not only is this the key to success, but it also creates empowerment in you and also your team.

Taking time to create a vision with a “why” takes time and energy.

The 4 Tips to Creating A vision

What are my Core Values?

Knowing your core values is the first step to laying the foundation for your vision.

Having a written copy of your core values as a farm or company is important.

What is my “Why” for the vision?

The “why” is the empowerment to the vision.

You can’t sell the vision to your team without establishing your “why”

What do I want to achieve from this Vision?

Knowing what you want to achieve is the confidence behind you as a leader

Having matrix that you can use to measure the success for the vision is key.

How can I use the strengths of my team to accomplish this goal?

We all have strengths and weaknesses. No leader is good at everything.

No matter if it’s a spouse on the farm that is your team or a multi employee team.

You as the leader need to recognize and empower the people on your team to use their strengths for the vision.

You and your Vision

In my last blog My Perspective of leadership in Agriculture I talk about the cores of a leader.

I talk about trust being one of them.

A leader without a solid Vision and a “Why” your team will never trust you.
