Why we put off the vision

Why is creating a Vision so hard? Many agriculture businesses put it off until it’s almost too late.

There are many reasons why but I want to dive into few in particular.

Having a Vision is the back bone to you as a leader. Without a clear vision and the empowerment to believe in it a leader will fail. Here are 3 reasons why leaders choose not to create a vision.

1) Lack of Empowerment -Empowerment comes from a place of knowing who you are and what you are learning and how you are growing. A leader that is empowered is curious and has the ability to create and empower others. A leader that is not empowered lacks Vision and is a micro manager which in turn keeps his vision to himself and does not succeed.

2) Lack of passion to grow - From a place of Empowerment a lot of times we have to learn how to have and create a passion for the vision. This is called creating the "Why". Knowing and being passionate about your "why" for the vision is key to maintaining the passion.

3) The wrong intentions - Many times we have the wrong intentions when leading. We think we have the answers but in reality they aren’t the right ones. Instead of just pushing your agenda, have a conversation with those on your team that you trust. Create an outline that is attainable and challenge yourself to be a leader that listens then acts. Spend time researching, getting curious and be intentional about ideas that come out of your research. You are worth so much more than you think and you can be empowered as a leader to me the best, compassionate and intentional leader you can be!
