There are three major distractions that can derail our focus. And four key principles to keep in mind. In this blog, I delve into the top three distractions. While there are many more, these three stand out as the most significant contributors.
1. Time
Time can easily bog us down, especially with the pressure of meeting others’ expectations. It’s crucial to take control of our time, or else the fear of it will drive us. Here are some tools to help:
a) Am I doing my best, and can I be okay with the rest?
b) What thoughts do I need to think differently as a leader to avoid the emotional pool of not being productive enough
Self Doubt
Self-awareness is key to managing the constant chatter around us. An empowered leader can navigate through the noise and communicate effectively. Taking time each morning to find a quiet space, calm the mind, and journal can help set intentions and ward off self-doubt. It’s about driving out the fear of self-doubt and recognizing that not all chatter is harmful. The key is to discern which chatter aligns with our goals and organize it effectively. How do you usually start your day to stay focused and intentional?
Others opinions of us
What others think about us is their prerogative, and that’s perfectly fine. They can voice their opinions, and we can choose how to respond. Sometimes, it’s worth getting curious about their perspectives. Embracing the ability to stay neutral and empowered in the face of others’ judgments is a game-changer. It allows us to focus on our own growth and values without being swayed by external noise. Balancing openness to feedback with staying true to ourselves is key. How do you usually handle feedback from others?
Understanding these three key aspects is crucial to how we function. Communicating with your team through the chatter demonstrates that you care and are intentional. The most incredible thing is the result you create by being intentional.
In my mentorship course, I dive deep into the subject of chatter. I provide tools to help you manage the noise and build self-trust. Everyone has their unique way of communicating with themselves, and that’s incredible. In December, I’ll be offering a discount for my next mentorship course.
